Part-Timers: Need Health Insurance?

While most full-time 4Cs members receive health benefits from the state, part-timers and students may be interested in purchasing health coverage through Connecticut's new health insurance marketplace, set up to comply with the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

The stories heard on the national news about problems with the sign-up system do not apply to Connecticut. Connecticut developed its own system, with very few problems reported.

Go to www.accesshealthct.com. Use their savings calculators to find out if you can get a discount and how much you can save. Then, sign up if you're interested.

The Kaiser Family Foundation also has a great website that helps individuals determine their eligibility for subsidies or tax credits if they buy their health insurance through the exchange: http://kff.org/interactive/subsidy-calculator/.
