Connecticut is moving forward with the merger of the governing bodies of the community colleges, state universities, and Charter Oak College into one Board of Regents.
A September 14 meeting of the legislative Higher Education Consolidation Committee saw the new interim President of the Board of Regents, Robert Kennedy, and Executive Director Michael Meotti responding to legislators’ questions. They reiterated their goals:
- to bring about management cost savings, initially at the System Office level, and
- to focus expenditures on instruction.
